FINAL TASK CCR

First Three Questions Answered In Podcast Script:  Hi guys! Welcome to Imani’s Talk Show. In today's episode I will be answering a few questions regarding my CCR for my final task of AS Level Media!      So, let’s get started!    My first question was “How does your product use or challenge convention?”  Thriller is widely known for you know having close ups, tracking, long shot, etc. Of course it’s not all of them, just a glimpse. Well, our opening sequence successfully, I think used conventions rather than challenged them. First this was shown through CAMS, our camera angles. The man stalking the girl, the girl walking home and the girl walking up to the house to get revenge. We also used mis-en-scene by having a red room, and in this room or this red room we wanted to imitate being in an isolated/ secluded location which you can also kind of see when he comes out of the room and shuts the door. We put dirt on the girl's shirt to represent her being there for a long time. Thr

Re- Edit Blog

Hi!  Over the weekend, Nijah has spent her time re-editing the video. This was all based on group decision and we decided to ask a few more people for review just to see what they liked!  This time, excellent feed back. With us reshooting, we had to add a couple of extra clips. In our script, there were voice overs needed to be said to align with our sequence. We tried to fade out the background which I think worked, this was to block out any other noise. Relatively easy to add in.  Nijah also made the mistake of making the song name our title name. First, it was just solid red. She added a certain font with lines/patches in it. She also made it black and red which I really liked. Which was quick to change. Of course, some grammatical errors which the group quickly noticed and changed.  I personally did not like how big the words were on the screen. We kept them just made them a bit smaller to not take away from the video. Many commented on the music but as a group we decided not to c

Hi!  In my last film blog, I assumed that was it. After our peer review, we got a bunch of feed back that decided otherwise!  We met up at Callie’s house because this is the kidnapping scene where a bit more problems occurred regarding the review. We all came around 3:30pm. Before we started filming we got Chick-fil-A and had a brief snack break. First thing we decided was Callie do the voice overs instead of Nijah. This was from our group itself, I’m not sure why. But, either way I agreed. This is how I’d originally thought it’d go until they changed it. Also, over the reviewers stated they didn’t like how it sounded, as if you can hear background noise. Therefore, either way we’d still need to re film.  We then decided for me breaking out that we needed to find a way to show I’ve been there for a long time. We did this by dirtying up my shirt. This was my younger outfit, the same one I’d been kidnapped in. The group went outside to get dirt and added some water to make a sort of mud

Peer Review

Hey! Yesterday, we finished our video. We decided to send a couple of people we knew to get an opinion. I posted on my Instagram if someone could review it and a few responded. The first person, Thomas stated he really enjoyed. When asked should we change anything, he stated he we shouldn’t change anything. I knew I needed to ask someone else because we NEED changes and we aren’t professionals. So, I know there are some mistakes that can be spotted.  The next person was my friend, Xayrion. He suggested we re-film a few scenes.  This is because I was laughing and they said it made it seem more like comedy. They just wanted me to look more scared in that scene. They said it helped that Adrian look very malicious so it helped with our plot. They suggested we add scary sound effects.  Nijah had her friend Arianna review. She stated that our plot was easy to follow along to. She said she was a little confused by the ending so she watched once more. When she did she was able to make the link

Hello! Today we began editing. We will follow the story board as it has the exact depiction of what we’d like the viewer to see. The first scene will be of me younger, the day of my kidnapping. The second clip will be of me sad at an adult age. Callie will do the voiceover that says “I was a happy girl”. We will play music in the back ground. This will include our song “Dark Red”.  We will then have the part of me at the park. The first scene will be me swinging looking happy. There will be no one in the background. We will then cut to me still swinging but Adrian being behind me. The scene will then cut to me being gone. Callie will do another voiceover stating “that day changed me”. The swing will just be swinging as if someone was snatched off of it. We then recorded the sound of a swing to emphasize the noise.  We then will immediately cut to me getting dragged into the parking lot. I will then be thrown in the car and we will incorporate our new scene of me screaming from the trun

Music Blog: Dark Red

Hello! For our opening sequence we decided to use “Dark Red” by Steve Lacy. Most of the group knows this song and artist. This is why we were mostly inclined to pick this song as we all have already deeply connected to the song and understood the exact interpretation of it. The song overall fits our thriller theme. It is not a song that has a super scary feeling but it gives just the right amount of intensity.  We will use the instrumental as we were not given permission to use said song. We as a group emailed the artist “Steve Lacy” a month ago. We have yet to receive a response. It is unlikely that we will get a response which is why we used the safer route.  This song will be played softly in the background. This tactic is used to not distract the viewer from the main point, the opening sequence.   The song allows the viewer to feel that suspense. There is also a lot of beat drops in it. With that it will ultimately make an eerie feeling. It won’t be too much where the audience wi
